Colorful Spawning Sheep takes the color lottery out of a flock. The usual weighting leaves white as the default and lets the other colors turn up only rarely, but here all sixteen wool colors carry exactly the same chance to appear, so a hillside can hold a full rainbow of animals without a single dye being used.
The change itself is deliberately small. It comes down to one edit in the sheep entity class, in the routine that rolls a new sheep’s fleece color, which keeps the download tiny and easy to drop into an old profile. That makes it a light addition to a legacy Minecraft world where a heavier mob mod would be out of place.
Two builds are offered. The Normal Drops version keeps shearing at two to five wool per sheep, while the x2 Drops version raises that to between four and ten. The second option turns a rainbow flock into a fast source of colored wool for large builds, and the two are the same in every other respect.
Version coverage reaches a long way back. The mod runs on the old beta builds from b1.2 up to b1.8.1 as well as on the 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 releases, and it does not strictly need a mod loader underneath it, which suits preserved installs of early Minecraft.
