RetroRevisions is a 1.2.5 mod that pulls features from later Minecraft versions back into an older world. The Block of Netherite arrives as a decoration block, item frames are backported in full, and daylight and night detectors tell night from day and answer with a redstone pulse.
The backported Beacon works within a 50 block radius and grants Speed along with Jump Boost II. Getting one takes Lux Aeterna, an item the mod adds for smelting the beacon into existence.
Beside the backports sit blocks that never appeared in vanilla at all. The Chimney gives off smoke for as long as it receives a redstone signal, Redstone Stairs change the direction they face when powered, and the Iron Boat keeps its backported ice speed, does not break and comes back to you as a full boat.
