Vertical travel is one of the most tedious parts of any build, and this Fabric port brings back the elevator block that players know from the 1.12.2 era. It is fully functional and teleports you up and down between elevators, so tall towers, deep mines and multi-floor bases are far quicker to move around in than with a ladder shaft.
The newer addition is camouflage. Right-click the elevator with any block and it takes on that block’s appearance, so the elevator can vanish into a stone wall, a wooden floor or a decorated hallway without breaking the look of the build. There is no list of supported textures to check, because any block in the game works.
The vertical range is not fixed either. A small properties file holds the value, which starts at 20, so you can shorten the hop inside a compact base or stretch it across a tall structure, and a server keeps its own copy of the same setting. The crafting recipe is unchanged from the original mod, Fabric API is required, and the build targets Minecraft 1.21.1 on Fabric.
