Nixienaut is a shared code library rather than a content mod. It collects the common, ease-of-use routines that are reused across several projects and mods, so those projects can pull the same helpers from one place instead of repeating them. On its own it adds nothing to the base game, and you will never notice it while playing.
Because the library ships a Fabric mod metadata file, Minecraft treats it as a normal mod entry, and that is exactly what allows other mods to declare it as a dependency. Despite that packaging, the code inside is not written specifically for Fabric; it is general-purpose helper code that simply happens to be delivered in mod form.
Compatibility is deliberately broad. The library is built to run on any Minecraft and Fabric Loader version, which is what a dependency needs to be if the mods relying on it are to keep working. In practice it stays quietly in the background: you install it because another mod asks for it, and then forget it is there.
