Iron Furnaces takes the idea behind the Iron Chests mod and applies it to smelting. Instead of a single vanilla furnace, you work your way through several tiers that clear stacks at a far higher speed, and there is a Rainbow Furnace waiting to be crafted for anyone who wants to unlock its power.
Sides can be reconfigured on the furnaces themselves, so items go in and come out wherever the layout of your base needs them. Augments extend the same block further, letting one furnace take over smoking or blasting duties instead of adding another machine to the room.
The mod is built to sit next to the rest of a Minecraft modpack without friction, with explicit compatibility for JEI and Project MMO, and the 1.21 line is under active development.
