Fright’s Delight answers a question every Minecraft player has asked while cleaning out an inventory full of rotten flesh and spider eyes: what if those drops were ingredients instead of junk? The mod turns the loot of hostile mobs into a collection of 56 food items, aimed at a balance of horror, whimsy and something that still feels like vanilla Minecraft.
The menu goes far beyond a single stew. Seven drinks run from Ghast Tear Punch and Cobweb Punch to Soul Berry Punch and Slime-Apple Cider, and the same flavours come back as cookies, lollipops, ring candy, syrups, pies and cheesecakes. Punch bowl feasts are available for every drink, crates store rotten flesh, bones, phantom membranes, cobwebs, spider eyes and poisonous potatoes, and Melon, Pumpkin and Jack o’Lantern candy baskets round out the line-up. Two berry bushes, Soul Berry and Cursed Berry, let you grow ingredients rather than only hunting for them.
Eating here carries real risk. Five harmful effects bring small inconveniences or a quiet touch of psychological horror, with Hysteria filling the air with voices, Chills hinting at a spectral presence that may pass through you, and Slime Walk and Cobwebbed slowing your steps, while Infected behaves like a nastier hunger. On the other side, Undead Hunger grants immunity to food poisoning and infection and Fortified Mind shields you from hysteria and chills. The advancements are where you learn which dishes carry adverse effects.
Integrations keep it comfortable next to the rest of a kitchen pack, with support for Create, Supplementaries, Origins, Presence Footsteps, Dehydration and the usual recipe viewers REI, JEI and EMI, alongside effect description addons that spell out what each new effect does.
