A horse will carry you across the map, but it will not carry a base worth of blocks along with you. NiftyCarts hitches six different carts to the entity you are riding, or in the case of the hand cart to you, and lets them roll along behind. The supply cart alone holds a double chest of storage with a seat at the back, while the smaller hand cart keeps 27 slots close by for shorter runs.
The farming carts turn the same idea into machinery. The plow takes three tools, hoes, shovels or axes, and uses them on the block beneath it as you drive, tilling soil, laying paths or stripping logs depending on what you load into it. The seed drill takes nine slots of seeds and plants them on farmland as it is pulled, and the reaper harvests crops from its own seat, so a field can be prepared, sown and brought in by the carts themselves.
Carts attach and detach with a single hotkey, set to R by default, so swapping a plow for a supply cart at the edge of a field takes a moment. Tapping the sprint button once toggles a slow mode that eases your mount and its load down to a careful pace. Every cart has its own crafting recipe, and so does the wheel, so the whole set fits into a survival world on Minecraft 1.21.1 without any special setup.
