Immersive Portals removes the loading screen that normally sits between you and the other side of a portal. A portal shows the world beyond it while you are still standing in front of it, and walking through simply carries you across with the view intact. End portals get an enhanced version of their own, so the trip to the End follows the same seamless idea.
On top of the portals you already know, the mod adds mirrors and a full set of tools for making your own. Custom portals can be created with commands or generated through data packs, which puts them within reach of map makers as well as survival players. World wrapping portals and the dimension stack feature go further still and allow unusual world layouts.
Requirements differ by game version. The 1.14 and 1.15 builds need MixinBootstrap, every build after 1.19 depends on Cloth Config API, and the newest game versions are shipped as NeoForge builds instead. As with any new mod, backing up your existing worlds before adding it is a sensible precaution.
