Iris Shaders is an open-source shader pack loader for Minecraft, built so that the shader packs originally written for OptiFine keep working. You pick a pack, it loads, and the game renders through it.

Compatibility is the point of the whole project. Almost every shader pack in circulation loads and runs, and the small number of packs that are not supported is documented, together with the known limitations that cannot be fixed. That makes it easy to know in advance whether your favourite pack will behave.
