Create Smart Bounds is a small optimization mod aimed at one specific piece of waste in Create: the render bounding boxes of its block entities. Minecraft skips drawing anything that falls outside the camera view, and while an ordinary block uses a fixed compact area, a block entity can define its own bounds so that parts larger than a single block are not cut off. Chain connections are the classic example. The trouble is that Create tends to err on the side of a much bigger box than needed, which leaves plenty of machinery being rendered even when none of it is visible.
Tightening those boxes is the core of the mod. Mechanical Arms and Belts, Chain Conveyors and Factory Panels, PSI and Deployers, plus Rollers and Frog Ports, all get bounds that fit what they actually draw. On a single machine the gain is marginal, but across a large contraption or a big machine area the saved work is enough to make a difference.
The second half of the work is caching. A bounding box only needs to change on a few precise events, yet Belts rebuilt theirs every single game tick, twenty times a second. They now recalculate only when the block is broken and replaced, which removes a constant source of lag. If you want to see the result for yourself, block entity render bounds can be checked in game with the NeoForge debug command, so a before-and-after comparison takes only a moment.
