Create Nuclear grafts an entire nuclear industry onto Create. The reactor is the centrepiece, and an optimised build produces over eight million SU, which puts it in a completely different league from the water wheels and steam engines a Create factory usually runs on. That output is the reward at the end of a long chain rather than something you assemble in an afternoon.
Getting there is a Create problem rather than a single machine. Uranium and Thorium ores arrive together with the full refining process behind them, and the whole chain is meant to be built and powered automatically, so the fuel line becomes a factory in its own right. Committed engineers can push further and feed a reactor from an infinite source such as cobblestone, using a complex refining setup that exploits the full potential of Create appliances.
What surrounds the reactor is what makes it dangerous. Reactors come in three tiers with rising energy output and heat capacity, and a coolant system built on new fluids such as Nitrogen balances that heat and prevents meltdowns. Lose the balance and the reactor melts down in a massive nuclear explosion that leaves a hostile Irradiated Land biome behind where the base used to stand. Radiation is modelled outside of accidents too, since radioactive items give off ambient radiation, and staying safe around them means the Iodine system and Anti-Radiation armor. Create itself is required, and the recipes show up in JEI, REI and EMI.
