Optimism Shader is a small shader pack that gives Minecraft nights a horror atmosphere. It adds a handful of creepy effects that make the dark feel far less safe.
At night, a dark fog closes in whenever you move away from a light source. Red eyes can show up at almost random moments. Any spot with a light level of 0 goes fully black, so turning up the brightness no longer lets you see everything the way vanilla darkness does. Lights can also go out for a short time at night and leave you in sudden darkness.
This is the author’s first shader and it was put together in just two days, so it is a small and modest pack. It works with Iris or OptiFine and suits players who want tense, scary nights in their worlds.
