Chat Animation is a small quality-of-life mod aimed at one of the plainest parts of the interface. With it installed, new chat messages arrive with a smooth animation instead of simply appearing, so a busy chat window reads as a steady stream rather than a stack of jumping text.
The change is purely visual, which keeps the chat itself working exactly as before. If you want an even cleaner look, the mod can also remove the small indicator line that is drawn to the left of messages. On Fabric the settings are reachable in game through Mod Menu, so the individual options can be switched on or off without editing files by hand.
