Spell Power Attributes is a library that gives Minecraft a proper magic damage system. Instead of one generic magic stat it defines separate entity attributes for six schools – arcane, fire, frost, healing, lightning and soul – so a spell can scale off the school it actually belongs to. The schools are meant to sit naturally inside Minecraft, so the usual four-element split is skipped and fire ends up as the only classical element that gets a school of its own.
On top of raw spell power sit the secondary attributes: spell critical chance, spell critical damage and spell haste. Critical striking is entirely chance based and powered by those secondary values, while haste can be used to quicken casting or shorten cooldowns. Every attribute the library introduces also carries a status effect with a matching id and its own icon, so temporary buffs and debuffs stay readable during a fight.
Enchantments round the package out. Universal Spell Power lifts all spell damage, school-limited enchantments such as Sunfire raise a related pair like arcane and fire, and further enchantments target the secondary attributes directly. Magic Protection is symmetric to Projectile Protection but defends against magic instead. All of it is configurable through a server-side file that appears in the config directory the first time you run the game with the mod installed, and every enchantment ships with a description.
For other magic content the library exposes an API that reports an entity’s spell damage from its attributes, status effects and enchantments, and hands back the critical strike chance and multiplier as well. That makes it a shared foundation other magic mods can build on rather than content you interact with directly.
