SCS Software has announced a new World of Trucks event for Euro Truck Simulator 2 called Cruising Iceland, timed to the release of the game’s Iceland DLC. The event starts Tuesday, November 10, 2026, and runs until Sunday, January 3, 2027, at 23:59 UTC.
The goal is simple on paper: haul cargo to or from any city in Iceland and help the community reach a combined 175,000,000 km driven. Every job counts toward that total as long as it’s at least 150 km long, and players can take part using External Contracts, the External Market, or their own trailer if they’d rather not touch company freight.
What’s in Iceland
The Iceland DLC adds 14 cities to explore, and the event asks players to deliver to or from each one for a personal goal. Along the way the route follows the Ring Road, Iceland’s famous Route 1 that loops the entire island, passing black sand beaches, volcanic fields, and the fjords on both coasts.
SCS also points to a few specific stops worth watching for: the Haukadalur geothermal area, where the Strokkur geyser erupts on a regular cycle, Iceland’s narrow one-lane bridges that force truckers to slow down and take turns, and Reykjavík itself, described as the world’s northernmost capital.
Rewards for finishing the goals
Players who complete deliveries to or from all 14 Iceland cities earn a World of Trucks Achievement plus a Fire and Ice ETS2 truck paint job as a Steam inventory item. If the wider community hits the 175,000,000 km target and a player has already finished their own 14-city goal, they’ll also get a Tröll hanging figurine, also delivered as a Steam inventory item. SCS notes that completing the personal goal is required to qualify for the community reward, and players can track progress through the Log Book on their World of Trucks profile, then claim rewards from the Events page once everything’s done.
What it means for modded setups
If you run ETS2 with mods, especially map additions or traffic overhauls, it’s worth checking compatibility with the Iceland DLC before diving into the event. New DLC content sometimes shifts load order or conflicts with older map mods, so back up your save and mod list beforehand. Skin and paint job mods should be fine alongside the event reward, but anything touching truck physics or UI elements tied to World of Trucks tracking is worth testing on a separate profile first.
