kfear's Backpack System reworks how inventory space works, turning the backpack into an actual item you craft and equip rather than an invisible pocket space.
Players start with just 12 usable slots and must find Hauling & Packing magazines to unlock better backpacks, each one offering more storage, up to 96 slots with the Apex Hauler. Perks like Pack Mule still matter, but now they affect how much weight you can carry comfortably rather than how many slots you have.
The system is built to avoid any loss of items — packs can't be removed while full, upgrades only ever add space, and the death bag has been enlarged so nothing is left behind on death.
This mod is aimed at players who want a slower, more meaningful progression system for inventory management, with real tradeoffs between carrying capacity and mobility.
