For the first time in a mainline Grand Theft Auto, the story belongs to two playable leads: Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, an outlaw couple on the make in Leonida. Rockstar has published bios for both and named a supporting cast around them ahead of the November 19, 2026 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

What Rockstar’s bios say about Lucia and Jason
Lucia is the first female lead of a mainline 3D-era GTA, and Rockstar’s official bio is blunt about her. Her father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk, fighting for her family put her inside Leonida Penitentiary, and plain luck got her out.
Everything since frames her as the engine of the pair: counting the takings, pushing for the next job, carrying the story’s central idea that trust is the only thing they actually own.
Jason’s official background reads like a police file: raised around grifters and crooks, an Army stint to escape a rough adolescence, then work for the smugglers in the Leonida Keys. Rockstar boils him down to one line — he wants an easy life, but things keep getting harder.

On screen he is Lucia’s counterweight: behind the wheel, checking mirrors, doing the arithmetic while she escalates.
A Bonnie and Clyde story you actually play
Both leads are playable, which makes the relationship part of the design rather than a plot device. An easy score goes wrong and pulls the pair into a state-wide conspiracy, the ground the second trailer covered in May 2025.
Lucia’s leash is part of the setup: the first trailer introduces her in prison orange, in a supervision interview, and later flashes an ankle monitor on a club floor.

Talk of a third playable character — the leak-thread name Kai — has never been backed by Rockstar material: every bio, trailer and store listing names exactly two.
The supporting cast Rockstar has named
Alongside that trailer, Rockstar rebuilt the official site and introduced the ensemble:
- Cal Hampton — Jason’s paranoid friend, glued to Coast Guard radio chatter
- Boobie Ike — a Vice City legend with real estate, a club and a studio
- Dre’Quan Priest — a hustler turning street money into a music label
- Real Dimez — the rap duo of Bae-Luxe and Roxy, chasing clout
- Raul Bautista — a career bank robber always crewing up for the next score
- Brian Heder — a veteran smuggler working out of a boatyard in the Keys
Leonida’s viral bystanders
Not everyone gets a bio, and that is deliberate. The first trailer was stuffed with social-feed satire, starting with the shirtless daredevil climbing out of a speeding pickup under a caption mourning him.

Then there is the purple-haired arrestee, filmed for a news segment beside a Vice-Dale County corrections badge, his misspelled forehead tattoo nodding at Florida’s viral mugshots.

And there is the neighbourhood-watch grandmother in a floral nightgown, a hammer in each hand, broadcast live to a follower feed.

None are confirmed story characters, but they set the register of the world Lucia and Jason move through, and the NPC immersion leaks put that chaos in the streets rather than in cutscenes.
What comes next
How differently the two actually play is the kind of question Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look should start answering on August 27, 2026; Rockstar posts the details on the official GTA VI site.
Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 at $79.99 standard and $99.99 ultimate; anything bought before November 20 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack — largely a Lucia-and-Jason cosmetics bundle: retro outfits and hairstyles, a ’55 Vapid Stanier and a tropical weapon finish. Once GTA 6 grows a modding scene, CrashMods will host what the community builds around them.
