SCS Software Highlights Player Reactions to ATS Road Trip: Ford DLC

A Ford Mustang driving on an open American highway in American Truck Simulator

SCS Software published a community spotlight on October 27, 2026, gathering reactions from players and content creators who have spent time with the Road Trip: Ford expansion for American Truck Simulator. The studio said it had been following screenshots, videos and stories from people trading their trailers for four-wheeled rides across the map.

The post rounded up a handful of YouTube videos showing different ways players have approached the add-on, from laid-back cruising and sightseeing to chasing down postcards in the new Atlas feature and taking on courier work through the Dispatch Market. SCS thanked the creators involved and encouraged readers to check out their channels.

What creators had to say

Several YouTubers also gave SCS their impressions directly. Krewlex admitted some in the community were unsure about the idea at first, but called the result “a great addition” after trying it. They singled out the Mustang’s engine note as a favorite detail and said they planned to keep hunting postcards in the months ahead.

DaSimSimma said the parcel deliveries did not grab them the way trucking jobs usually do, but exploring with Atlas won them over. They described driving at car speed and height as changing how familiar roads feel, making them want to revisit the whole map.

A creator behind the channel Our Over-The-Road Trucking Adventure, a former real truck driver, said they were skeptical about adding cars to a trucking game at first. After spending time with it, they praised the Dispatch Market for adding an unexpected delivery layer and said the Atlas Tourist Boards let them finally do the sightseeing they never had time for on the job.

SCS also pointed to posts shared across its social channels, naming a handful of players and creators including Jamie_Shields27, Shadowc40481222, Xivionation, FaLL3nGh0St, Carolus and MarianGameplay for their Road Trip content. The studio thanked everyone who left feedback and reviews on Steam, saying the input helps the team working on the DLC and the base game.

What this means for ATS mod users

If you run mods on American Truck Simulator, a content update like Road Trip: Ford is worth treating with some caution. New vehicle types and features such as Atlas and Dispatch Market can touch map data, UI elements or vehicle definition files that some mods rely on.

Back up your mod folder and profile before updating, and check mod pages or forums for compatibility notes after a DLC drops. Map mods and traffic or UI overhauls are usually the first to need patches, so give modders a little time to catch up if something breaks.
