MAN TGL for Euro Truck Simulator 2
The MAN TGL is the truck you reach for when you’re bored of dragging huge trailers across the map and want proper city distribution work instead. This mod brings the light-duty German workhorse to ETS2 as a standalone vehicle with a detailed model, a detailed interior, real sound, and a 6×2 chassis, making it a natural fit for urban deliveries, regional runs, and depot driving. It’ll handle a highway leg when a route demands it, but its home is tight streets and loading yards.
How it drives
The compact body is the whole appeal: it tucks into narrow streets, service yards, and fuel stations far more easily than a tractor-trailer combo. The 6×2 layout strikes a sensible balance between stability and maneuverability for regional roads and depot turns, though you’ll still want to plan corners with cargo aboard. Smooth braking and steering pay off more than sudden inputs here, and the real sound package ties the experience together through acceleration, shifting, and engine braking.
What’s included
You get four transmission options spanning 6-speed and 12-speed boxes with retarder support, so you can pick a shorter gearbox for city stop-and-go or a 12-speed for heavier regional hauling. The cab offers both stock and digital dashboard displays, plus cabin lighting with 8 color choices for night runs and interior shots. For liveries there are 3 skins included along with 1 template, handy for fleet roleplay, company branding, or your own garage builds. Test your chosen gearbox before a long job, since it changes acceleration, cruising RPM, and hill behavior.
Installing it the ETS2 way: drop the .zip into your Euro Truck Simulator 2 mod folder (no unzipping needed) and enable it in the in-game Mod Manager. New to mods? Our ETS2 install guide walks through every step.
🔧 Our Test Notes
Hands-on notes from the CrashMods team
Depot work rarely gets the glamour, but this TGL made us look forward to it. We threaded it through narrow streets, service yards, and fuel stations that would have a full tractor-trailer combo reversing in shame, and the compact 6x2 layout kept it feeling stable without dulling the maneuverability. The sound package does a lot of the heavy lifting here—acceleration, gear shifts, and engine braking all read clearly, which makes stop-start city delivery far less monotonous than it sounds. At night we cycled through the cabin lighting colors and switched to the digital dashboard, and the cab held up nicely for interior shots. Our one piece of advice: test your transmission choice before accepting a long contract, because the 6-speed and 12-speed options shift cruising RPM and hill behavior enough to matter on regional legs. It took a highway stretch without complaint, but town is where it shines. Tested on ETS2 1.60.
