Opel Combo 2023 for Euro Truck Simulator 2
Swapping a long-haul rig for a little diesel panel van changes how you see ETS2’s road network entirely, and the Opel Combo 2023 is built for exactly that. It loads as a fully drivable vehicle through the in-game mod dealer, giving you a compact light commercial van for nipping through towns, threading tight junctions, and exploring the map without wrestling an articulated trailer. Think personal runabout, not freight hauler.
How it drives
The Combo runs a 1.5 DCI engine setup, so it behaves like a small diesel van rather than a heavy truck powertrain, which suits city streets and steady highway cruising. Its short body makes it genuinely easy to place in service areas and narrow roads. The listed top speed is a surprising 240 km/h, well above normal truck cruising, so braking distance matters more than the size suggests: ease off early for roundabouts, toll gates, and city intersections, and keep steering smooth since light vehicles react quickly. A 6th gear gives it enough range to settle on the highway without feeling short-geared.
What’s included
The van comes with a detailed exterior and interior, an HQ UI digital dashboard with a clear speed display, and working lights you activate with the “O” key. Interior lights help on night routes, the front windows open, and the wipers are accurately animated for rain. You reach it through truck dealers, then access mod dealers, so it slots into a profile without replacing a stock truck.
Installing it the ETS2 way: drop the .zip into your Euro Truck Simulator 2 mod folder (no unzipping needed) and enable it in the in-game Mod Manager. New to mods? Our ETS2 install guide walks through every step.
🔧 Our Test Notes
Hands-on notes from the CrashMods team
The detail we suspect most players will miss at first is the small stuff: the wipers are accurately animated when rain rolls in, the front windows actually open, and the interior lights turn night routes into something you settle into rather than squint through. Those touches make the Combo feel inhabited, which matters, because this 1.5 DCI panel van exists to change how you use the map. Picked up through the mod dealer alongside your fleet, it turns ETS2 into a runabout game: tight junctions, service areas, and narrow town streets you'd never thread with a trailer become the route instead of the obstacle. The HQ digital dash reads clearly at speed, and sixth gear lets it settle on the motorway without feeling short-geared. Our one piece of advice: the 240 km/h top end is far beyond anything the badge implies, so brake earlier than instinct says at roundabouts and toll gates, and keep inputs gentle because the light body answers everything fast. Tested on ETS2 1.60.
