This lighting tweak changes how light behaves throughout the game world, focusing mainly on indoor spaces while also adjusting outdoor tones. It replaces the default global light and ambient occlusion settings using two custom DATA files, giving rooms a softer, more natural glow instead of the flat, washed-out look of the base game.
With this installed, interiors are brighter overall, ambient light spreads more evenly so walls and sims facing away from light sources aren't cast into shadow, and sunlight through windows feels stronger. The excessive blue tint sometimes seen in lighting is toned down, the sky looks a touch less saturated, and screen-space ambient occlusion is boosted for extra depth and contrast across objects.
It's a good fit for players who feel the base game's lighting is too dim or washed out and want more natural contrast and brightness without adding extra in-game lamps. Just note it conflicts with other mods that modify the same renderer global light and SSAO files, such as Indoor Lights Brighter.
