Rockstar Games has never published an official map of GTA 6, and with the November 19, 2026 release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S under three months away, that blank space has become the community’s favorite puzzle. Fans have spent years rebuilding the state of Leonida from two trailers, official screenshots and leaked material, and some reconstructions are startlingly detailed. Here is where the effort stands in late August 2026.

What Rockstar has actually confirmed
GTA 6 plays out in Leonida, Rockstar’s version of Florida, with the Miami-inspired Vice City at its center. Alongside the second trailer in May 2025, the official GTA 6 site was rebuilt around named areas and location stills. Six are official so far:
- Vice City — the coastal metropolis at the center of everything
- Leonida Keys — the island chain off the southern tip
- Grassrivers — Everglades-style wetlands and swamp country
- Port Gellhorn — a faded, run-down stretch of coast
- Ambrosia — inland farmland and small-town sprawl
- Mount Kalaga National Park — forest, lakes and high ground
Our tour of Leonida’s confirmed locations goes area by area, and our trailer 2 breakdown covers what the footage gave away. What Rockstar has not shown is a world map: no in-game atlas, no minimap footage, no size figure. That gap is what the fan cartographers fill.
The fan maps worth your time
The chart at the top of this page is version 0.030 of DuPz0r’s Vice City Mapping Project, the most rigorous entry in the genre. It credits dozens of contributors, cross-references trailer frames, official screenshots and the September 2022 leak footage, and measures distances in Rage engine units rather than miles. Its key separates confirmed roads from speculative ones.

Other creators chase atmosphere instead of annotation. This dark rendition, credited to Reddit user StikyLizardStudiosYT and itself a rework of an earlier gta6six community map, drops place names entirely and imagines Leonida’s road network as a GTA 5-style pause-menu screen.

The Project Americas map by u/MyNeuronsAreFried goes the other way, with colored terrain and labels running from Port Gellhorn in the northwest down through Vice City to the Keys — plus a cheeky Bermuda Triangle offshore.

Avatarso’s version is the most game-ready of the four, imitating the satellite look of GTA 5’s in-game atlas closely enough that it gets passed around as a leak.
How big is Leonida, really?
Nobody outside Rockstar knows. Every mapping project that has tried lands somewhere above GTA 5’s landmass, and some land a long way above it, but those figures are scaled off unfinished reconstructions and the projects openly disagree with one another. Rockstar has never published a size figure of any kind, so treat an exact square-mileage headline as a guess dressed up as a measurement.
VIMAP: compare the theories side by side
If you would rather explore than scroll, the community-built VIMAP tool stacks these projects as toggleable layers — DuPz0r’s main map, RickRick’s close-up of Vice City, tachyon_v’s speculation-heavy chart from the September 2022 leak — with zoom, markers and in-engine coordinates.

The August 2026 leak and the Extended Look
Through the back half of August 2026 a leaker going by CyberLeek pushed out a steady run of GTA 6 material — at least ten videos across six days, up to August 23 — including footage presented as the game’s own in-game map. Take-Two has gone after the source rather than the substance, filing subpoena requests with Discord, Microsoft and X Corp. in the Southern District of New York to identify whoever is behind the account. Rockstar has confirmed none of it, so file the leaked map under plausible, not proven.
The official picture should sharpen this week. Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look is due on August 27, with viewing details on Rockstar’s Newswire. If it shows even a corner of the real map, every chart here gets graded within minutes — our roundup of what fans expect from the next showcase collects the predictions. Once a GTA 6 modding scene appears after launch, CrashMods will host the first map tools, free as always.
