This pack introduces two reward traits built to reflect the harsh realities of chronic illness in historical or rustic gameplay: Lingering Malaise, representing chronic fatigue, and Old Injury, representing chronic pain. Both traits focus on penalties rather than perks, giving affected Sims a more grounded and challenging daily life.
Sims with Lingering Malaise burn through their Energy Motive much faster and avoid strenuous activities, while new interactions let them complain about fatigue or receive comforting tea from loved ones. A special 'Push Past Limits' option lets them temporarily push through exhaustion at the cost of a later energy crash. Old Injury slows physical skill growth, lowers a Sim's top skill potential, and shifts their baseline mood to Uncomfortable, alongside new interactions for sharing their pain or receiving comfort from others. Both traits can eventually be lifted through a 'Consult a Healer' travel event with a chance of recovery.
This is ideal for players who enjoy historical, medieval, or pioneer-style storytelling and want more authentic portrayals of chronic fatigue and chronic pain in their Sims' lives. It may also appeal to players interested in disability representation within their game.
