Green beans are new to Farming Simulator 25. FS22 players may have grown them on modded maps — Brazilian maps in particular — but they never made the base game. Now they have, and on the numbers they are the most profitable crop confirmed so far.

The numbers, up front
- Seed rate: 280 litres per hectare
- Yield: up to 13,050 litres per hectare with the ground properly prepared
- Price: around $2,160 per 1,000 litres
Run those together and a hectare of beans grosses roughly $28,000 per harvest.
For comparison, spinach — the other headline new crop — comes in around $15,000 a hectare. Beans nearly double it.

The catch: seed is expensive
280 litres per hectare is a lot. Plenty of crops ask for a fraction of that, and on a large field the up-front cost is real.
It is still the right trade. The return is high enough that the seed bill is a rounding error against the harvest — but it does mean beans are a poor choice when your balance is thin. You need the cash to plant before you see any of it back.
When to plant
Green beans are a spring crop. Sow between April and June for the best result.
From there it is roughly four months in the ground, with the harvest window running through to November. That is a long occupation of a field, so plan the rotation around it rather than squeezing beans in.

Growth stages — and rot
Beans use the staged growth system. The crop changes visibly as it develops, getting taller and denser through each phase, so you can read the field rather than counting days.
The important half is the other end: there are decay stages too. Leave the crop standing past ripeness, or fail to protect it from the weather, and it degrades. With a crop this valuable, being late is expensive.

The OXB BP 240i harvester
Beans need their own machine, and it is a big one — over 20 tonnes.
- Engine: 315 hp
- Header: 3 metres
- Hopper: 15 m³
- Road speed: up to 25 km/h · Off-road: closer to 10 km/h
The off-road figure matters more than the road one. A 20-tonne machine moving at 10 km/h across a field is not quick, and on a large holding that is your real constraint — not the hopper.

Beans are not just for selling raw
Like other crops, beans feed into production chains. Processing them into finished goods will pay more than selling the raw crop, though the full list of products had not been detailed at the time of the reveal.
Given the base price is already the highest of the new crops, that upside is worth watching.

Where beans sit among the new crops
FS25 adds a substantial list: rice, spinach, peas, peppers, onions and mushrooms alongside green beans.
Beans are the money crop of that group on current figures. Rice is the most mechanically different. Spinach is the easiest to fit into a season twice.

Worth planting?
Yes, once you can afford the seed and the harvester. Around $28,000 a hectare is the best confirmed return in the game, and the only real obstacles are the up-front cost and a slow machine.
If you are starting out, get the cash flow going with something cheaper first, then move a field over to beans as soon as you can carry the seed bill.
