The 1.43 interior cabin sound update made many default trucks noticeably louder inside the cab. This sound mod brings back soundproofing similar to what the game had in version 1.42, giving you a calmer and more comfortable ride in the default American trucks.
With the windows closed, outside sounds including the engine are kept quieter. The in-cab engine no longer sounds louder than it does when the camera sits outside right next to the engine, excess cabin reverb is reduced, and high-pitch noises such as the turbo are toned down.
The mod can be enabled with low priority in the mod manager, and modders are welcome to use its baseline settings in their own work. If you tweak the values yourself, avoid raising gain too far, since it can affect all sounds including traffic and ambient audio. The latest update adds soundproofing for the 2021 Volvo VNR Electric and the 2025 Volvo VNL.
