Steep banks and soft corners are where a yarder earns its keep. This machine pulls logs out of ground that is hard to reach in Farming Simulator 25, sending its carriage out along the cable and dragging the timber back. Once the wood is at the roadside it also handles loading and unloading logs on a trailer.
Rope length runs up to 500 m, with the grapple itself dropping a further 55 m, and the grapple carries two hooks with tension belt support for strapping loads down. Two additional cameras, one on the grapple and one on the rope base, make long distance work far easier to judge than the cab view alone. The 340 hp machine sits in the Forestry vehicles category at 240,000 $ and travels at up to 10 kph.
Setting up follows a clear routine. Unfold the yarder so the rope base appears, switch to the second control group to drive the rope base into position and set it down so it just touches the ground, then switch back to the first group and send the carriage out to the logs. Keep in mind that the vehicle cannot be moved once it is unfolded, so leave enough clear space in front of it before you start.
Tinted windows, beacon lights, body color and track color can all be configured. The first control group covers cab rotation, main arm, carriage movement and grapple height, while the second group moves the rope base left and right, forward and back, up and down and winds its rope. The yarder is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
