FarmCon 24: Dates, Keynotes, Modding Workshops and the FSL Final

FarmCon 24 took place on 6–7 July 2024, and it mattered more than most years: Farming Simulator 25 was close enough that Giants had real material to show rather than teasers. This is what the event covered, laid out by what you would actually have gone for.

Keynotes and the developer Q&A

The keynotes are the reason most people watch. Giants developers use them to walk through what they have built, why they built it that way, and what it changes in play.

The topics people expected going in — and which the event was built around — fell into three groups:

Systems. More dynamic seasons affecting crop cycles, livestock and market prices. Better AI for hired workers and NPCs. A reworked physics engine for vehicle behaviour and how machines interact with the ground.

Content. New crops widening the range of viable farming strategies, and new livestock breeds — with talk of deeper breeding and genetics behind them.

Multiplayer and mods. Cross-platform play so friends are not split by hardware, plus better tooling and support for mod developers.

It is worth being straight about this: going into the event, much of that was expectation rather than confirmation. The keynotes were where the line between the two got drawn.

Modding workshops

If you build things rather than just play them, the workshops were the real draw. Sessions covered:

  • Custom maps — designing large, detailed farm environments from scratch
  • Vehicles and machinery — building equipment that works as well as it looks
  • Scripting and animation — making mods interactive rather than static

There were also preview sessions of the modding tools shipping alongside FS25, including Giants Editor. For anyone who has spent a weekend fighting an editor to do something simple, watching the people who wrote it is worth the trip on its own.

The Farming Simulator League final

The FSL Championship ran at the event — the competitive side of a game most people associate with quiet evenings and a podcast. Alongside the official tournament there were casual competitions and challenges, with FarmCon merchandise as prizes.

Merchandise and exclusives

Attendees got access to FarmCon 24 items ranging from clothing to collectibles, and Giants has previously used the event to release limited content available only to participants.

If you could not be there

Giants publishes a post-event highlight reel covering the announcements, workshops and the parts that do not make it into the official streams. Here is the FarmCon 24 video:

What came next

Everything shown at FarmCon fed into the FS25 release later that year. We cover the individual announcements as separate pieces in our news section, and the mod library built since are collected here.
