The first-generation CLS was a four-door luxury coupe built by Mercedes-Benz from 2004 to 2010, after the prototype appeared at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2003. Production was based in Sindelfingen, a light facelift came in 2008, and the C218 replaced it in 2011.
